Paul Skelton

Paul Skelton is currently a specialist at all major Tracks like Saratoga, Del Mar, Keeneland, and Oaklawn Park, but in a long and storied career, he has done it all as a handicapper, clocker, and writer whose works have appeared in countless newspapers and magazines from California to England.

A professional handicapper and racing writer with behind the scenes sources and access to the barns and owners boxes at race tracks around the country, his works have appeared in many major publications including Daily Racing Form, Today's Racing Digest, The Thoroughbred of California, Sports Eye, The Arkansas Gazette, The Dallas Morning News, The Fort Worth Star-Telegram, and The Shreveport Times.

And, Paul is a winner,  proven time and time again.  At one point, the Arkansas Gazette ran a full page ad noting that YOU'VE GOT TO WIN TO BE THE WINNER, AND THE WINNER IS PAUL SKELTON. The ad pointed out that Paul had been the leading handicapper at the recently concluded Oaklawn Park meet, and that although his selections were published every racing day in the state's major newspaper, he had shown a flat bet profit FOR THE ENTIRE MEET.

Paul wins because of his vast and varied experience, from advertising manager at The Thoroughbred of California to clocker for Today’s Racing Digest, to handicapper for numerous newspapers, tip sheets, and private investors. His understanding of and ability to evaluate breeding, pace and speed figures, track biases and profiles, race shapes, trainer patterns, and the condition cycles of the individual horses has resulted in his being dubbed The Midwestern Maven.
